If you are worried about your privacy this is a step you can take to keep your home private from prying eyes on street view
To blur your house on Google Street View, follow these steps:
-
Access Google Maps:
- Go to Google Maps on your computer.
-
Find Your House:
- Enter your address in the search bar and hit "Enter" to locate your house on the map.
-
Enter Street View:
- Drag the yellow Street View icon (found in the bottom right corner) onto the map in front of your house to enter Street View mode.
-
Report a Problem:
- Once in Street View, position the image so that your house is clearly visible.
- Click on the "Report a problem" link, usually found at the bottom right of the screen.
-
Fill Out the Form:
- In the form, you’ll see a red box. Adjust this box to cover your house.
- Under the "Request blurring" section, choose "My home" as the thing you want to blur.
- Provide any additional details as required to help Google understand your request.
-
Submit the Request:
- After adjusting everything, click "Submit."
Google will review your request, and if they find it appropriate, they will blur your house in Street View. Note that this process is permanent—once blurred, Google won’t unblur the image later.
